As I am sure most the regulars on here are aware Ice road trucking pays the most I myself dont know much more than that being a rookie. So I have been asking truckers lately how to maximize the money they can make with a cdl. The typical answers I get is land a job with walmart it’s 70k a year or find a good company after you have a few years of experience etc. So he basically drives heavy machinery to job sites around the country then operates the machinery. He personally only operated cranes at this point in his life which I found very interesting. He says he clears 6 digits annually which I kinda believe, I am wondering if this guy was full of it or not, any opinions on this? Also Does anyone have any suggestion for a rookie about directions one can take in this career to maximize your salary as a truck driver. I don’t care how much travel how little I see familyI will go overseas.

When just getting into trucking, I knew a couple of guys who bought fancy Ford Louisvilles right off the bat with lots of options. Mids I think it was. The sellers have a hard time getting rid of these items and they will often sell them to you at a low price just to get rid of them. You can then resell these items on Craigslist, eBay or Facebook Marketplace to make some nice cash! Being that you own a truck, you will be able to pick up more items on one trip which means more profit in your pocket. Yes, you will need some money to purchase items in the beginning but once you start making money you will make up for your losses and then it turns into straight profit from there. They are able to make this money flipping everyday items like patio sets, strollers, radios, etc….

Right now, I have 30k in savings which I plan howw use as a safety net for the debt. The thing is, I can barely make money. I want to get myself another driver to help bring in profits but that takes upgrading the garage which is over k on top of the salary. What can I do? I really hope that there is something I can do as I don’t want this game to feel like another chore, working hours on top of hours at a time to acquire what I want.

I grinded wigh to k on my first profile and got my truck without loan and you know why? Because I enjoyed the game lol Oh and one more thing you shouldn’t really upgrade your starting garage, you should get a new one because it’s cheaper that way. Don’t upgrade garages, is way too much expensive.
Instead of upgrading, buy a new one, you will get 3 new slots for a good price. Put one point in every skill except economy driving. And don’t expect driver to work wonders for you, only when you have a few of them, they start making good money, but having one or two drivers it will only pay your fuel and repairs maybe.

I’ll keep trying. If you want to play the game with no cheats, it will semj time to earn money. You only need to be patient and drive. You can also increase your money a little faster once you have two or more garages. Just quick travel between. The further you travel the more money you. It is somehow hard for me to fathom that there are money cheats for this game.
